Black Darter
|
Distribution: Found in just two localities in Wiltshire including Center Parks on the Longleat estate. Identification: The male is easily distinguished as it is the only black darter found in the UK. The female however, is more problematic as it (and juvenile males) are yellow like the other darter species females. They can be identified by a combination of black legs and a black triangle on the top of the thorax. County Status: Rare, only found in two locations. |
