Distribution: Widely distributed throughout Wiltshire, but generally found in relatively low numbers at any particular site.

 

Identification: The Large Red Damselfly is one of two red damselflies found in Wiltshire. The other (small red damselfly)  is however much rarer. The large red damselfly can be distinguished by it's black legs (the small red has red legs) and it's black pterostigma (the small red has a red one).

County Status: Widespread.
