Distribution: Found throughout Wiltshire. This medium sized hawker of late summer and autumn has increased it's range throughout the UK since the 1960's and is now common in southern England. Mainly found in the vicinity of ponds, lakes and canals, it can occur in large numbers.
Identification: The male is readily identified by it's combination of medium size (noticeably smaller than the Southern Hawker), the yellow triangle on abdominal segment 2 and the bright sky blue stripe at the base of segment 2. The female also has the yellow triangle on segment 2 as well as a comparatively long set of claspers.
County Status: Widespread and common.
